Copper Sinks
At Sinks Gallery, we only work with true
custom copper sink artisans that use time-tested techniques for creating
quality, long-lasting products. We have seen mass-produced copper sinks stamped out on an assembly line and have never
been happy with the workmanship or quality. Now it is possible to
have a custom copper sink in your custom kitchen or bath!
Each sink is carefully handcrafted and made to order – this means
you get a sink the way you want it.
Do quality handcrafted
copper sinks cost more?
The answer is a
resounding “No.” The fact is that you will not save a lot of
money by buying a mass produced production copper sink when
considering craftsmanship and longevity. If you want a quality
sink made to your specifications that will age gracefully – buy
custom! If you are the type that wants quality in your
cabinets, your hard surfaces and every other aspect of your décor,
don’t overlook a quality sink.
When considering
copper sinks, be careful! There are different weights with
copper just as there are with stainless steel. Are you looking
at a 24 ounce copper sink? A 32 ounce? Most of our sinks
are 48 ounce copper which is the weight of a 12” square (16 gauge).
We also offer 64 ounce and even 72 ounce on some of our copper
sinks. If you are comparing apples to apples, you won’t pay
more and you will get exactly what you want! Sinks Gallery has
carefully selected the artisans we work with and will make sure that
you get a quality product that will last and has a solid warranty.
How Do They Age?
Another common
question is how a copper sink will age. Will it turn green? Is it
difficult to maintain? The answer to both of these questions is
“No.” If you want your sink to maintain its shiny finish like a
new shiny penny, well, that is a different story. If you want your
sink to age naturally to a beautiful variety of darker copper
colors, you are in for a treat. Will your sink turn green? In our
experience – very unlikely. Copper sinks patina with age. They
generally require the same maintenance as a porcelain sink – soap
and water rinsing from time to time. And if you are concerned about
water spots, there are several ways to avoid this including the
finish you choose. Hand-hammered sinks, a rubbed bronze finish or
copper/stainless steel hybrid sinks are a few of the options if you
are concerned about this.
How Do I Get a Custom
Size, Shape and Finish?
Now you can have
a sink designed around your lifestyle. No appliance in the kitchen
is used as much as the sink. Assembly-line sinks are designed for
the "average" consumer. They target the market where most sales can
be made. The sinks we sell are designed specifically for you! Our
sink design specialists will assist you in designing the perfect
sink that matches your lifestyle and décor. We will discuss your
height, whether you are right- or left-handed, your food preparation
style and how you cleanup after a meal. All of these issues are
important in designing your perfect sink. The possibilities are
endless and your home will never be the same. The easiest way to
start is to give us a call.
