Our Freestanding Bathtub | Teak Wood | Geo Deep is inspired by the Japanese ofuro tubs, traditionally used for a long soak that warms the body and relaxes tired muscles and nerves. Teak is warm to the touch and an excellent insulator, thus helping to keep the water hot.
The Geo Deep Bath can also be made in a double well configuration, measuring 29 1/2" Wide x 59" Long x 29 1/2" High overall. ($10,560)
Both sizes come fitted with a 1 1/2" pressflow drain. A 1 1/2" thick, "T" shaped optional back rest is available. Removable seats are also available. Another option is that this tub can be mounted on 2 - 4" x 4" feet that extend the width of the bathtub (call for pricing on all options). See additional photo #5 for specs.
Teak is perfect for the precision work of making baths and sinks because of its unique combination of great durability and stability. In wet environments where the timber must behave predictably, teak is the king.
Teak grows in the mixed deciduous forests of South Asia and is not a tropical rain forest tree. It is also found in plantations across the world. All our finely crafted teak sinks and baths use teak from Myanmar that is harvested in an environmentally sustainable way.
Our teak sinks and baths are treated with Timbertect Plus, an epoxy resin sealant which sinks into the wood and fuses with it, forming an exceptionally tough layer that will not absorb stains. These sinks are easy to clean with standard non-abrasive bathroom and kitchen cleaners. Products containing bleach should be avoided as they may lighten the wood unevenly. Further information on care and maintenance is provided with the product.
